The Pumpkin Project
In May 2004, each grade voted on which type of pumpkin they would plant in the Glover Farm Garden (part of the Outdoor Classroom). Each teacher was provided with a colorful display and information about the pumpkins to help the students make their choices. During the week of June 14th, each class planted their pumpkins and learned about the pumpkin growing cycle by viewing The Pumpkin Circle video. Parent/student teams signed up as Pumpkin Caretakers over the summer to water and take care of our pumpkins. Each student also took home a pumpkin seed to plant and observe over the summer.
