| 4. Drill two _-inch holes (B) on opposite sides of the bottle close to the cap. (These holes will be for the bird perch.) 5. Drill four 3/8-inch holes (C) about 1.5 to 2 inches above the perch (spaced evenly around the bottlesee the figure). (These holes will be where the birds can get the seed, so they have to be directly above where the perch will be.) 6. Take off the bottle cap. Feed a 24-inch length of string down through the hole in the bottom of the bottle (A) through the neck of the bottle. When you get it through the bottle neck, securely tie a large paperclip to the string. Pull the string back up through the bottle. The paperclip will hold the string hanger in place. With a glue gun, put a glop of glue on the hole opening to seal it and keep the rain from getting into the birdseed. Put the bottle cap back on. 7. Feed an 8-inch long piece of _ -inch dowel through the perch holes (B). 8. When youre ready to fill the feeder, take off the bottle cap and pour in the seed. Put the cap back on and hang the feeder in a place where squirrels cant get at it. |
